![]() ![]() In Video I am using Downscale Filter of "Area (weighted sum, 4/6/9 samples) instead of OBS' default of Bicubic 16 samples. So I'm surprised at your advice: " If Excel runs on your 1680x1050 monitor, then set OBS to 1680x1050" Yes, I am using Simple and High Quality, medium file size. created a larger screen area similar to SnagIT, therefore bigger fonts - so the words are clearer. 1680x1050 created a smaller file but most importantly it created a smaller screen area, therefore smaller fonts - so the words are harder to see. Ok, then I will assume that you want me to save to mkv format. (Rich says to use "Simple, so I guess I should not use Advanced's CQP or CRF options) Just curious - What do you do for a living, may I ask. You are very kind to take time to help us. My monitor shows my Excel sheet words very clearly. ![]() What else can I do to improve the clarity of small fonts? If you look at the attached "VLC for snagit vs OBS seems the same quality.png" you will see that the clarity is bad. But when I record I had to set both Base and output resolution to 1920 to get as good quality as what SnagIt can deliver. My external monitor has resolution of only 1680 x 1050. I guess need high quality video to display small text. It's important that the recording be of high enough resolution to display tiny words in Excel sheet. It has a screen shot from our mp4 that I recorded. VLC for snagit vs OBS seems the same quality.png Please see my comparision where I compare the mp4 of SnagIT vs OBS in: I finally was able to make a OBS recording ,of an Excel sheet, that is also as good as Snagit's mp4 recording. OBS-Studio: High quality recording and multiple Audio Tracks :įor testing purposes, I tried to video record a stationary Excel sheet. I was trying out the configuration wizard – I selected "do not optimize for streaming as I am not streaming my video:" I have good luck with SnagIt but OBS seems really hard to configure to make the final recording in mp4 as good as SnagIT.
